For the extreme turtle {extreme introvert}

I was an extreme turtle. I was the teenager who hid behind her older brother and best friend when in social outings.
I was the one who did not talk for 3 months to her boyfriend (now husband) because I was shy and introverted.
I am now putting goals for myself, pushing myself to speak to strangers, to other moms, to family and more. I currently am an Assistant Coordinator at my MOPS. This has stretched me, built me up and pushed me in more ways than I could of imagined. My goal this year is to speak in front of our group. To welcome the ladies, or make announcements, welcome the speaker, etc.

I want to push myself to learn to be more open, more connected, more social.

For you extreme turtles I have some advice:

Join a moms group or MOPS. Do it now.  Open up and connect.

Push yourself. Push yourself a little each time you are in a social setting. Have a goal to talk to one new person when at a playgroup, church, bible study, etc.

Don't be depressed/have anxiety. You are not alone. You are not the only one out there in your shell, afraid and unsure. Remember that.

This is the 7th post in a series- Calling all Introverts

  1. You are a blessing to our MOPS group! Can't want to see you take the stage! :)

  2. I love that you have goals! Unfortunately, I am not married and have no children. So, organized opportunities to work on this do not readily present themselves for me to work on coming out of my shell.
