15 Best Reads of 2015

Once again I knocked out quite a few books in 2015. (You can see my best reads from 2014 here.) I read 63 books in 2015. A few less than the year before but that's okay. This year I am taking my reading a little slower in some books and cruising through others. So it might even be lower this year.

Each of the books I have chosen for the best reads of 2015 I would honestly love to buy a copy for each of my friends. I highly recommend checking your library first for the books then if you don't see a copy go order one through the links below. They are the perfect addition to your to be read list and won't leave you bored. Enjoy friends!

The Fringe Hours
Jessica Turner
This book is about taking back pockets of time throughout your day to do something for YOU. Practice self care and do the things you love. Jessica also addresses comparison and guilt and how eliminating these feelings and making changes to your schedule will truly make you a better wife, mom and friend.

Make it Happen
Lara Casey
Surrender your Fear. Take the Leap. Live on Purpose. As the book says "you were created for a purpose, and it's time to make it happen." This book is full of encouragement, wisdom and insight from Lara's own personal life in the first part of the book and the second part has full blown action steps to take to truly make what matters happen for you one who has dreams and new adventures to see and shoot for.

Veronica Mars #1 and #2
Rob Thomas
I had seen a few episodes of the show and I have seen the movie so I was excited to check out the books! They were the best mixture of mystery, sassiness and thriller and I loved each one. I am hoping to see #3 come out soon too, I hope!

What Alice Forgot
Liane Moriarty
Imagine waking up and missing 10 years. That is what this little novel explores and I have to say, it is done beautifully and I loved every bit of it!

Still Alice
Lisa Genova
This novel is about an accomplished professor who is recently diagnosed with Alzheimers. It's a beautiful story that had me laughing in parts and tears coming too. It is truly moving and has vivid descriptions and I loved the insight it gave to the disease that I didn't even know were linked together.

Unveiled Wife
Jennifer Smith
This is one couple's story into their marriage and the journey that took place. It is refreshing, raw and truly transparent. It shows what they did when they were tempted to call it quits and how God miraculously steps in during their darkest hour. Put this on the top of your list if you are married, so much wisdom and encouragement for wives everywhere.

Dancing Through Life
Candace Cameron
This book is about courage, convictions and taking leaps to do scary things that will bring so much freedom. It answers questions you can ask yourself like "how do you stand with conviction in your world?", "Where does your courage come from when faced with challenges?" and more!

Scary Close
Donald Miller
This book is about dropping the act and finding true intimacy. It leads you through Donald's personal stories and how he decided to stop impressing people because it wasn't helping him connect with anyone. It's about impressing fewer people and connecting with more, the freedom that comes when we stop acting and start loving.

Girl Boss
Sophia Amoruso
I happened upon this book while browsing the bookstore on one of our date nights and I was so surprised because once I started I couldn't put it down. It truly is a book for those daydreamers, those creatives, those wild and free women. Girl Boss is about trusting your instinct and following your gut; knowing which rules to follow and which to break and more!

Me Before You
JoJo Meyes
It's a true love story in today's generation. An ordinary girl who takes a badly needed job working for a wheelchair bound after an accident ex Master of the Universe. It brings together two people who have less in common, a true romantic story and the movie is coming out in March!

The Life List
Lori Nelson Spielman
One woman sets out to complete her old list of childhood goals and finds her lifelong dreams lead her down a path she never expects. Grab a copy and enjoy over the weekend :)

Drew Barrymore
I have always adored Drew Barrymore so I was excited to grab a copy of her book when it first came out. It portrays her life in stories as she looks back on adventures, challenges and incredible experiences of her earlier years.

The Good, The Bad and The Grace of God
Jep and Jessica Robertson
Another marriage book and a moving story of redemption and second chances. I have always loved following the Robertson's and they each have a unique writing voice that I loved to dive in and hear.

All the Light We Cannot See
Anthony Doerr
Do not let how many pages it has scare you away and if so grab the audio version :). It tells a story through so many different eyes but it truly is a beautifully well told novel. It has physical details and gorgeous metaphors that truly shape the book.

I hope you find a few on this list to enjoy and curl up with during the winter. It's the best time to catch up on reading. Happy reading friends!!
